JAZZ WEEKEND

Jazz fans the world over like to take in the smooth sounds of jazz on Mackinac Island. The Grand Hotel’s Labor Day Jazz Weekend is the perfect opportunity to come enjoy good music, good people, and great scenery. This jazz festival always lives up to the beauty and prestige of the Grand Hotel and the island itself. Concerts are held at various locations on the grounds of the Grand Hotel, including the Tea Garden, Grand Hotel theatre, and even on the front porch!

Musicians like Herbie Hancock, former members of the Count Basie orchestra, the Manhattan Transfer, and several gospel choirs have all graced the various stages at this event. Even Pete Fountain managed to make it over for one year’s festival. The Mackinac Island Jazz Festival is an enjoyable way to share some cool jazz and picturesque beauty.

For those of you who desire something a little more formal there are the night-time shows. Evening concerts are in the hotel's Theatre, Terrace Room, Jockey Club, and Cupola Bar, and require guests to adhere to the hotel's strict dress code.

Bring your bee bop diddly self over to Mackinac Island for some world-class musical performances in an idyllic setting!
