CHURCHES
There are a several historical churches on Mackinac Island.
Historic Mission Church is a classic structure that showcases Colonial New England style architecture in fine detail with it's majestic white bell tower and iron weathervane. Constructed by Protestant missionaries in 1829, Mission Church is Michigan’s oldest church building. There are carefully restored pews, furnishings and a balcony.
The Little Stone Church is located two blocks from Main Street at the edge of Grand Hotel’s Jewel Golf Course. This is a unique little church made of beautifull stonework and displaying lovely stained glass window.
Ste. Anne’s Catholic Church has a year round active congregation with its original parish dating back to 1695. This beautiful structure is one of Mackinac’s finest jewels. A recent renovation has added modern conveniences, yet maintains many exquisite original features.
Trinity Episcopal Church was established as a parish in 1873, and has a small year round congregation. People of all faiths and denominations are always welcome.
