Special Events

Mackinac's most famous event is the annual Lilac Festival held every year in early to mid-June which is a whole week full of activities.  Some of the other events include the Zoo De Mack Bike Bash in May featuring huge parties and bands as well as a breathtaking scenic bike ride and  the annual Chicago to Mackinac Yacht Race in July; 333 statute mile(289.4 nautical miles) from Navy Pier to Mackinac Island. It is the longest annual freshwater sailboat race in the world! There is always something going on in Mackinac Island so be sure to check out the events calendar before you plan your next trip.
