Churches

There are a several functioning historical churches on Mackinac Island.

Historic Mission Church is a classic structure  that showcases Colonial New England style architecture in fine detail with its majestic white bell tower and iron weathervane. Co-structed by Pro-testant missionaries in 1829,  Mission Church is Michigan’s oldest church building.  There are carefully restored pews, furnishings, and a balcony.

The Little Stone Church is located two blocks from Main Street at the edge of Grand Hotel’s Jewel Golf Course.

Ste. Anne’s Catholic Church has a year round active congregation with its original parish dating back to 1695. This beautiful structure is one of Mackinac’s finest jewels. A recent renovation has added modern conveniences, yet maintains many exquisite original features.

Trinity Episcopal Church was established as a parish in 1873, and has a small year round congregation.
