Destination Dream Wedding Weekend

Destination Dream Wedding Weekend

Many couples dream of having the perfect wedding on Mackinac Island.  It’s quaint history and unique natural beauty make it a perfect site for a destination wedding.  In early October, the Mackinac Island Tourism Bureau hosts the Destination Dream Wedding Weekend.  Soon to be joined families can experience everything for a perfect destination wedding.  You will be able to view ceremony and reception sites while feasting on culinary creations around the Island.  You will also be able to learn how to move you and yours around the Island in Mackinac's unique horse drawn carriage community.  The perfect Mackinac Island wedding is yours for the taking when you attend this weekend event.

The fee is just $25 per person and includes admission to all events, culinary samples, champagne tastings, etc. and is payable upon arrival at the Friday night registration.  If you are unable to make it on Friday night, you will still be able to  pay on Saturday morning at the Tourism Bureau office on Main Street between 8am-10am.

One of the main advantages of this weekend event is that anything and everything wedding related is all right here for you to see and experience.  Plan to spend time sampling food at the restaurants and reception locations. You may want to see menus and ask for ideas for your bar. Its also important for you to have an idea of how many guests you'll be inviting and share that information with the restaurants and consultants.  Spend as much time as you need thinking about and working out details of your wedding day menu and bar needs.  That way, your reception will be the flawless memorable experience that you and your wedding team want it to be.

Remember to bring some examples of your wedding colors to assist your consultants.  Also, if you plan to visit the Grand Hotel after 6pm, dressy attire is required.  Other than that, all you need is some imagination and a good pair of walking shoes and you’re set for the Mackinac Island destination wedding of your dreams.
